Why did I get this error?

You do not have any users assigned to the role 'teacher' for this activity. Because of this, you have users with permission to view or edit your Journal activity submissions.

How do I fix it?

Return to the course where your Journal activity is stored.

1. Press the gear icon to open the course's settings menu. Press 'Turn editing on'.
2. Scroll down (or use tabs if applicable) to reach the Journal activity.
3. Click the activity's 'Edit' menu and choose 'Assign roles'.

This brings you to the Assign roles in Journal page, where you choose roles to assign to individuals.

1. To fix this particular error: click 'Teacher' to reach the Assign role 'Teacher' in Journal page.
2. Select from potential users in the right menu, then press the < Add button between the menus. (Hold down your shift or control keys, control or command on Mac, to select multiple users at once.)
