Top page options

In the top of the page you are presented with a number of options.

1. Course version

This is a drop-down menu for selecting which version of the course you want to look. Maybe the course was describe slightly different a couple of years ago and you want to look at that for various reasons.

2. Draft

You can choose between looking at the draft, preview or public version of the course. The draft version is where you edit the course info which will not be visible to the public before the course is published.

3. Preview

Preview gives you the option to view how the public version of course info will look if you were to publish it.

4. Public

If you click Public you will see what info is published at this point in time.

5. Republish

When ever a course changes phase it will automatically get published, however sometimes changes has to be made within a phase which needs to be visible to the public immediately. After you have made your change you can simply push this button and your changes will get published.

6. Actions menu

From this menu you can access three lists: Programmes, Options, Periods, and three data set for comparing STADS, Moodle and enrollments.

7. Phase section

Here you can see what status the course is in. This status will be changed by the Course Catalogue Manager as the editing of the courses progresses.

There exists these 11 phases:

  • Proposal: Core data is reviewed.
  • Basic review: Abstract, Description and Learning outcomes are reviewed and approved by HoSPs and Programme Coordinators on reoffered courses.
  • First editing: New courses are empty and this phase allows Course Managers to edit all part of the description.
  • Final editing: Course Managers edit the rest of the course info on courses that are offered again.
  • Final review: HoSPs and Programme Coordinators make a final check after the Course Managers have finished their editing.
  • Offer: Course info is closed for editing and offered to the public.
  • Preparing: ?
  • Ongoing: Courses are actively being taught.
  • Finished: Courses have been completed and awaiting being archived.
  • Archived: Courses are finished and now archived.
  • Cancelled: Courses are cancelled or discontinued.

8. Edit button

if you scroll down the page, there are several edit buttons leading to different edit pages. The first edit button only allows you to edit the first part until the next edit button.

The first edit button lets you edit Course info, The next two Intended learning outcomes, the next one Course settings, the next three Exam and the last one Class. Class is only visible if the course has at least one class activated in the first editing page.

Comments and Revisions

In the right side of the page there are to other blocks; Comments and Revisions.

Comments

The Comments block shows you the last comments made when editing the Course info section. Every time you make a change it is required to write a comment so others can get a quick idea about what has been changed. You can also add a comment directly in the block and subscribe to the comments on this course if you want notifications.

Revisions

The Revisions block lists the last revisions, or versions if you will, of the course. If you click of two revisions you can compare them. Differences between the two will be highlighted next to each other with colors. Sometimes it takes a while to load the comparison.
