FAQ
Q: I want to add my video as a link on my course page instead of an embedded video player
A: It is possible to disable the embedding functionality of learnIT Media by disabling the filter called "Embed learnIT Media as a video player". This will, however, disable the embedding of video players from learnIT Media everywhere on your course, also on Page and Book resources as well as in fora and other activities.
A better solution, if you want to add links to a video resource, is to use the Video Resource from the Activity & Resource picker. By doing so, you will create a learning element from your video that will be presented with an icon and a text of your choice. This will make your video element stand out and be more easily noticed by your students.
Q: I would like to combine two or more videos into one
A: Unfortunately this is not supported by learnIT Media. In order to merge several videos into one, you would need to do it locally on your computer or portable device. In learnIT Media you can however trim and do basic editing of a single video. Afterwards, you can create a Playlist, linking the videos together in succession.
Q: When copying my course everything is transferred except my videos. Why is that?
A: When using the copy course, import, or the Sharing Cart with media embedded through learnIT Media, the videos will not work initially. This is because of the heightened security surrounding the videos. Whereas the previous video platform shared publicly accessible videos only hidden by a long, obscure link, learnIT Media controls permissions on course and people basis.
When importing videos from previous courses, you will need to re-establish the link to the video, such that learnIT Media knows that the new position of the video is valid. Please check out how to do that by checking out the Video Ressource.
